Industry-leading vulnerability and log management solutions now
cover GarrettCom switches and routers, Tofino Security appliances
ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Belden Inc. (NYSE: BDC), a global leader in high quality, end-to-end
signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, today
announced that Tripwire cyber security solutions for vulnerability and
log management now support its brands, GarrettCom and Tofino Security’s
products. The new, integrated solutions deliver an added level of cyber
security assurance for mission-critical industrial networks. Tripwire,
Tofino Security and GarrettCom are part of Belden’s portfolio of
industry leading solutions.
To help protect critical infrastructure organizations from
cyber-attacks, Tripwire Log Center now collects and processes logs from
both GarrettCom switches and routers and the Tofino Xenon Security
Appliance. Mutual customers can search and report on events of interest,
generate alerts and build correlation rules for these devices as well as
the additional 274 devices supported by Tripwire Log Center.
Tripwire IP360, an industry-leading vulnerability management solution,
now discovers and profiles GarrettCom switches and routers. Joint
customers can easily identify Belden devices in their environments and
address many common security issues and vulnerabilities affecting a wide
range of operating systems and applications.
“Securing critical industrial infrastructure requires a deep
understanding of their unique operational requirements as well as a
comprehensive understanding of the growing cyber security threats these
organizations face every day,” said Gus Malezis, president of Tripwire.
“Belden is uniquely positioned to solve these problems by combining
their industry leading signal transmission solutions with advanced
threat, security and compliance solutions from Tripwire.”
The industrial environments that support critical infrastructure have
unique requirements including support for specific protocols, resiliency
in extreme conditions and equipment that must perform over extremely
long periods of time. Recently these systems have been integrated with
corporate enterprise networks as well as wireless, mobile and
cloud-based applications in order to improve efficiency, reliability and
functionality. A consequence of these integrations is a dramatic
increase in the potential for cyber-attacks, which have the potential to
cause significant downtime and physical damage. Successful cyber-attacks
have the potential to cause loss of life as well as myriad cascading
effects.
“The combination of Tripwire cyber security and Belden industrial
networking solutions seems to be a promising strategic alignment for
both,” said Scott Crawford, research director information security for
451 Research. “Tripwire has long been a pioneer in solutions for
protecting systems against compromise and assuring their integrity.
These are important controls that will be needed going forward to solve
the unique security problems facing critical infrastructure operators.”
