I hold Belden shares issued prior to 1993. How do I redeem them or find out their value?

Any shares in the name of Belden Corporation issued prior to Belden’s acquisition by Crouse-Hinds Company in 1980 were exchanged for Crouse-Hinds stock in that transaction. In 1981, Crouse-Hinds was acquired by Cooper Industries and the Belden assets became part of a Cooper legal entity until 1993, when the new Belden Inc. was spun out of Cooper. Therefore, any pre-1993 Belden shares have either been extinguished or converted to Cooper Industries shares. Cooper was acquired by Eaton Corporation in 2012 and Cooper shares were extinguished in that transaction. If you are unsure about the status of your pre-1993 shares, Eaton Corporation’s Investor Relations site (http://www.eaton.com/Eaton/OurCompany/InvestorRelations/index.htm) has helpful resources.
