St. Louis, Missouri (January 25, 2010) - Belden Inc. (BDC:NYSE), a leader in signal transmission solutions, announced today that Dhrupad Trivedi has been named president of its Trapeze Networks business. Trapeze, one of Belden's strong global brands, is a leader in enterprise wireless LAN equipment and management software used in healthcare, education, hospitality, enterprise, industrial, and other markets.
Trivedi was previously vice president, corporate development at JDS Uniphase Corporation, where he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions and other strategic corporate initiatives. During his 11-year tenure at JDS, he also served as vice president and general manager of the firm's transmission business.
"Dhrupad brings a strong focus on results to Trapeze and Belden, and we're confident that he will drive new levels of performance and growth and lead Trapeze's wireless technologies into new and profitable markets," said Belden President and CEO John Stroup.
Trivedi assumes his new post today and will be based at Trapeze's headquarters in Pleasanton, CA. Trivedi holds a BE in engineering from the University of Bombay, an MS and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Universities of Alabama and Massachusetts respectively, and an MBA from Duke University.
